Pierre-Francois Grimaldi is an urban archeologist, a collector of lost memories. The vintage advertising posters he uses in his collages are often found during refurbishing works of Paris metro stations. These amalgamated layers of faded papers tell a poetic story of a bygone age and offer a fascinating experience of mid 20th century visual design.

It was during renovations of stations that the artist, as an archaeologist, on the trail of the past and appropriates these posters.
